"Artists' Walk" (2022)
My personal definition of the concept of an artists’ walk is interpreted through meditative snapshots of a walk taken throughout one continuous moment in time. My photography specifically focuses on the geometric shapes, lines, color, symmetry, as well as asymmetry, light, and shadow of natural and more architectural elements that can be found throughout the duration of one walk. This abundance of texture, color, and detail that can be found throughout the course of a walk are displayed in a linear structure, similar to that of a walk in its simplest form.
Each walk varies from personal to public spaces, tackling different types of walks varying in everything from location to duration. Some main inspirations include the work of Barbara Ciureg & Lindsay Lochman, Kevin Miyazaki, Julian Schulze, Dana Fritz, Penelope Umbrico, and many others. I combine natural elements such as rocks, trees, moss, flowers, and more as well as more structural elements like brick, wood, and metal. The crossing of paths and the connection of these different elements are all in conversation with each other in my photography.
